Nordstrom image requirements for marketplace sellers
Nordstrom holds marketplace imagery to its retail standard. Getting it right is mostly a matter of knowing the standard before you shoot — and of having one asset library that can serve every channel's version of the same photograph.
The standard, in practice
Start with the current Nordstrom seller guidance for your approved category. Confirm aspect ratio, minimum resolution, file format, background, primary-image treatment, additional views and restrictions on overlays before commissioning photography. Requirements may differ by category and image position.
A photograph prepared for your storefront may need a different rendition for Nordstrom. Have your creative team prepare the required assets, then use Acenda to manage and publish the channel-specific renditions. Do not assume that an image accepted on another channel meets Nordstrom's current requirements.
One library, per-channel renditions
Acenda keeps a single asset library per product and publishes channel-specific renditions from it, so approved versions of the same photograph can serve Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Macy's and your storefront. Your creative team supplies the correctly prepared renditions; Acenda manages their use by channel.
Slots, order and completeness
Categories differ in how many images they expect and what each position is for. Acenda checks required image counts and helps manage slot assignment. Your team verifies that each asset depicts the required view and meets the applicable visual specification. Arrange primary, alternate, detail and styling images according to current category guidance.
Illustrative example
A style has a clean front shot, a back shot and two detail crops in your PIM, plus a lifestyle image used on your own site. Acenda publishes the product shots into Nordstrom's slots in order, keeps the lifestyle asset available for channels that welcome it, and flags an incomplete required image count. Your team confirms that the supplied photographs cover the required views.
Prepare the assets; manage them in Acenda
Acenda manages renditions, slot assignment and completeness. It does not re-shoot, re-crop to a different aspect ratio, or remove a background — if the source asset does not meet Nordstrom's standard, it needs to be replaced at the source. Plan the shoot for the standard.

Operational verification question
Is the approved Nordstrom rendition associated with the correct product or variant?
The creative or merchandising team performs visual and file-specification review. Acenda's role is rendition management, assignment and required image-count checks — not automated image analysis.
Keep colorway photography tied to the right product
A complete gallery can still misrepresent an item if it shows the wrong colorway. Review image-to-product assignments when adding seasonal colors or replacing photography. Acenda supports channel-specific asset management so your team can reuse approved photography while keeping each destination's presentation deliberate.
