01
Catalog readiness
Audit identifiers, category fit, variant structure, attribute coverage and imagery against Macy’s requirements. Output is a gap list by style, not a pass/fail. Bring a representative style per category — sizes, colors, images, full attribute detail — and the gaps for the rest of the assortment are usually predictable from it.
02
Mapping
Import Macy’s live category and attribute schema. Map your taxonomy to Macy’s categories and your values to the retailer’s accepted lists — colors and sizes first, since they gate the variant grid. Mapped once, reused for every future style.
03
Enrichment
Work the gap list: required attributes with no answer, values outside accepted lists, missing image slots, colorways without their own photography. AI-assisted suggestions propose values from your own content for merchandiser approval, which is what makes a long tail finishable.
04
Validation and submission
Validate every style pre-submission. Submit. Rejections return per item and per field and go straight back onto the worklist.
05
Test orders and operational readiness
Confirm the order path end to end: order in, route to the right location, ship, tracking back, cancellation and return paths exercised. Confirm inventory scope — including which locations feed the channel’s offers — before volume arrives.
06
Go-live and operating cadence
Assortment live, inventory and pricing continuous, orders flowing, returns and payouts reconciling. Ongoing work is schema drift, seasonal assortment adds, and keeping the attribute worklist near zero.
