Kohl's Marketplace categories: what Kohl's is looking for

This page is part of the sell on Kohl's Marketplace guide.

Last reviewed: October 8, 2026 · Based on Kohl's public information.

Which categories can you sell in on Kohl's Marketplace?

When Kohl's expanded the marketplace in 2023, it named these categories and examples as areas it was seeking growth in. They are not a closed list, and categories can change.

• Apparel and accessories. Men's, women's, kids', bags, backpacks, sunglasses, gloves, hats and scarves.
• Sports and fitness. Exercise equipment, sporting goods, health and wellness.
• Pet supplies. Beds and furniture, bowls and feeders, toys.
• Home. Furniture, kitchen, home decor, patio and garden.
• Toys. Baby, kids and toddler, backyard fun.
• Baby gear. Furniture, carriers and strollers, health and cleaning.
• Electronics. Computers, computer accessories, gaming consoles, mobile accessories.

The examples are Kohl's 2023 wording. Confirm your products with Kohl's.

What does Kohl's mean by "white space" categories?

In 2026, Kohl's said it is more than doubling its selection of marketplace products and vendors. Kohl's describes the marketplace as expanding into “white space” categories that complement its core offering, and as a way to support seasonal transitions and bridge inventory gaps.

Our reading of that, which is not Kohl's published criteria, is that products which add something Kohl's does not already carry in depth are the ones to talk through. Fit with the assortment matters as much as the category name.

Does category alone get you in?

No. Kohl's reviews brand and assortment fit. Being in a named category does not guarantee acceptance.

Use the fit checklist to see what we look at, and how to apply to Kohl's Marketplace for the path after you decide to try.

What happens to your listings by category?

Each category has its own listing template and required attributes. A home item and an apparel item are not filled out the same way.

The checklist is Kohl's Marketplace listing requirements. Confirm the template for your category during onboarding.
