How do Macy's Marketplace fees work?

Macy's Marketplace fees align with industry-standard marketplace commission and referral structures, with exact commercial terms set by Macy's and confirmed during onboarding. Acenda's platform fee is separate (flat rate per channel, never a percentage of sales).

Macy's does not publish a public rate card. Terms are set in each seller's contract and confirmed during onboarding.

How and when are sellers paid?

After you create your seller account, Macy's invites you to set up a J.P. Morgan account. The seller account cannot become active until that account exists. Sellers are then paid weekly into a J.P. Morgan escrow account.

Refunds and later adjustments can land in a different week than the original order, so match each payout to the orders behind it.

See Macy's returns and settlement for how returns and payouts connect.

What other costs should sellers plan for?

The marketplace fee is only one part of the plan. You still run shipping, returns, and the catalog work Macy's reviews before items go live.

  • Shipping. Ship within 48 business hours with valid tracking from a U.S. warehouse. Parcel carriers are UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, Lone Star Overnight (LSO), LaserShip, and OnTrac. Freight needs prior approval through Macy's LTL program.
  • Returns processing. Customers can return marketplace items via UPS or in person at Macy's stores. You use UPS for returns, and you process them within two business days of receipt at a U.S. warehouse. Macy's provides the UPS account unless you ask otherwise.
  • Catalog work. Listing text and images must follow the Marketplace style guidelines Macy's shares during onboarding. That work sits with your team before anything is buyable.
  • Optional promotions and ads. Sellers can opt into select category-specific Macy's events and promotions, and Macy's offers sponsored product ads. Both are optional. This page does not state what they cost.
