Marketplace listing optimization checklist for AI search
Use this checklist to make sure every listing gives AI shopping assistants and marketplace search complete, consistent and current data. It's grouped by section, and each check has a one-line reason.
Tip: download the CSV and upload it to your AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok) with an export of your listings. Ask it to flag the items that fail a check. It works well as a starting point for your own listing review.
Your listings are AI-ready.
Every check is done. Keep it that way: check errors weekly, review category rule changes, and spot-check AI answers once a month.

Most of this list is automatic on Acenda
ListingMagic™ (beta) proposes the category, required attributes and picklist values from each marketplace’s live schema, and your team approves them in one worklist before anything publishes. After publish, errors are monitored and fixed at the field level (see how to fix marketplace listing errors). Material, country of origin, identifiers and compliance claims are never inferred. Pricing and inventory stay in sync across 100+ channels on the Acenda platform, and each channel’s image and content rules are in Channel Specs.
Listing checklist FAQ
How long does this checklist take?
For a small catalog, a few hours per channel. For a large catalog, start with your best sellers and work through the rest with bulk tools.
Which checks matter most?
Required attributes, a valid barcode, the right category and current price and stock. Without these, a listing may not go live at all.
Does this checklist work for every marketplace?
Yes. Sections 1–8 and 10–11 apply everywhere; section 9 covers channel-specific checks for Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus, Macy's, Nordstrom, Google and ChatGPT shopping.
Can I use the CSV with an AI assistant?
Yes. Upload it to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok with an export of your listings and ask it to flag items that fail a check.
How often should I run it?
Run the full list before a big launch or season, check errors weekly, and spot-check AI answers monthly.
