Add and arrange product images

Add, order and type product images on an item's page, and learn the file guidelines and how channels use your images.

What you'll learn

  1. Open the item, go to Details, then Media, and add your images
  2. Put images in order and set each one as main or alternate, then save
  3. Keep files under 25 MB in JPG or PNG; each channel uses your images in its own way

Add and arrange product images. Product images live on each item's own page. Upload an image once, and Acenda creates the sizes each sales channel needs, so you don't need to crop or resize anything yourself.

In the sidebar, under Catalog, click Items. Then click the eye icon next to the product you want to update. Open the Details tab and scroll down to the Media section. Each image card shows its type. Click Edit Images, the button with the pencil icon.

Then click Upload Image to add a file from your computer, or Add from URL to paste a direct link to the image file. You can paste a normal Dropbox or Google Drive sharing link. Acenda converts it to a direct download link, as long as the link is shared with anyone who has it. Drag the images into the order you want, and set each one's Type, for example main or alternate. Then click the Save Changes icon.

A few file guidelines. Keep each upload under 25 MB, since larger files can fail to process. JPG and PNG are the safest formats. Acenda can create image sizes up to 2000 by 2000 pixels, so a source image around that size gives channels the sharpest version for zoom and gallery views.

Each marketplace has its own image rules. On Target Plus, for example, Acenda sends the main image plus up to 15 alternate images, in the order they appear in Acenda. Alternate images come from each variant, and a parent listing without variants sends only its main image. If no image is set as main, Acenda uses the first image. If a channel rejects an image, check Item Issues under Channels.

The Attribute Path column shows which photo was flagged, such as Main Image or Additional Image 1. Images are processed before they're sent, so a new image can take a short while to show on a channel. Updating many items? Use a bulk image import instead of editing items one at a time.

To recap: open the item, go to Details, then Media, add your images, put them in order, set main or alternate, and save. Keep files under 25 MB, in JPG or PNG. Questions? We're here to help. Chat with Acenda support in Acenda Admin, or visit acenda.com/help.
