Create kits and bundles in Acenda

Set up a kit that sells several existing items as one listing: create the SKUs, link components on the Kit Configuration tab or with a Kit Component import, and see how Acenda works out kit stock.

What you'll learn

  1. Create every SKU first: components with Group set to variant, the kit with Group set to kit
  2. Link the components on the Kit Configuration tab, or with a Kit Component import
  3. Let Acenda work out the kit's stock from its components

Where to find it

The menu path in Acenda Admin.

Under Catalog, Items, click View on the kit's row, then open the Kit Configuration tab. For many kits at once, go to Data Transfers, Imports, click New Import and choose Kit Component

Create kits and bundles in Acenda. A kit sells two or more of your existing items together as one listing, like a gift set or a multipack. Here's how to set one up and how its stock is worked out.

A kit doesn't carry its own stock. Acenda works out how many you can sell from the items inside it. Kits are an opt-in feature. If you don't see kit as a Group option, or there's no Kit Component import type, contact Acenda support to have kits turned on.

Every item has a Group: variant, product or kit. What makes a kit a kit is its own list of components. Each component must be a variant, a single sellable item. You can't put a product or another kit inside a kit.

Step one: every SKU must already exist. Create or import each component with Group set to variant, with its own barcode, price and inventory. Then create the kit SKU with Group set to kit.

Step two: link the components. Under Catalog, Items, click View on the kit's row, then open the Kit Configuration tab.

Click Add Component, choose a component by SKU, and enter how many of it one kit needs. Click Save, then repeat for each component.

For many kits at once, use a Kit Component import. Under Data Transfers, Imports, click New Import and choose Kit Component. Download the template, fill in kit_sku, sku and quantity for each row, then upload, map and finalize the import. Use a CSV, XLSX or XLSM file. Only the first tab is read, and Recurring Imports don't offer this import type.

Don't assign inventory to a kit; its Inventory tab is view-only. For each warehouse, Acenda divides each component's on-hand stock by how many one kit needs, rounds down, and uses the lowest result.

So with fifty shirts but only five hats in a warehouse, a shirt and hat kit shows five available there. Each component can also have an Inventory Floor, a quantity held back from kit availability. It starts at zero.

A kit needs its own barcode. Every UPC or GTIN must be unique across your catalog, so a kit can't reuse a component's barcode. Some Group changes are blocked. A variant can't change Group while it's part of a kit, and a kit can't change Group while it still has components.

If a kit shows zero, open its Kit Configuration tab and check each component's on-hand quantity and Inventory Floor. One component at zero brings the whole kit to zero.

To recap: create every SKU first, link the components on the Kit Configuration tab or with an import, and let Acenda work out the kit's stock. Questions? We're here to help. Chat with Acenda support in Acenda Admin, or visit support.acenda.com.
