Target Plus × EDI
Integrate Target Plus with EDI
Quick answer
Yes — through Acenda. Target lists Acenda as a Target Plus Channel Partner. Acenda connects to Target Plus with your Seller ID and API credentials from the Target+ Partner Portal. Your EDI connection is between your trading partner and Acenda.

What is Target Plus, if it isn't EDI?
Target Plus is Target's curated, invite-only marketplace. Target makes the approval decision. Once you are approved, you add Target Plus as a sales channel in Acenda and authorize it with marketplace API credentials. Listings, inventory, pricing, orders and tracking for Target Plus run through that channel. This is separate from Target DVS, the 2P drop-ship program named on the EDI hub.
What data moves between your EDI connection, Acenda and Target Plus?
On the Target Plus side, which is an API sales channel, Acenda sends listings mapped to Target's taxonomy, inventory on Target's schedule with any Inventory Floor held back, and orders. Tracking returns to Target Plus through Acenda. Cancellations, returns and settlements stay as already described on Target Plus integration.
On the EDI side, when you are the buyer (the common case: a fulfillment provider, 3PL, WMS or drop-ship supplier), Acenda sends the 850 Purchase Order. The partner returns the 855 PO Acknowledgment, the 856 Advance Ship Notice (Acenda creates or updates a Ship Advice and carries tracking to Target Plus), the 846 Inventory Advice (updates On Hand for the mapped warehouse, which then feeds Target Plus after any Inventory Floor), and the 810 Invoice.
On the EDI side, when you are the vendor on a drop-ship retail connection, do not read that as how Target Plus works. Other retailer drop-ship programs, such as the hub's Sam's Club example, reverse those roles. See EDI and drop-ship network integrations.
A 997 confirms a file arrived and could be read. It is not the 855. Item identifiers on inbound files (vendor number, UPC or EAN) must match a SKU in Acenda.
How to integrate Target Plus with EDI
- Get approved for Target Plus. Target Plus is invite-only, and Target makes the final decision.
- Get your Seller ID and API credentials from your Target+ Partner Portal, then add and authorize Target Plus in Acenda (How to connect Target Plus to Acenda).
- With your Acenda team, set up X12 EDI 4010 to your trading partner over direct SFTP or AS2, or through SPS Commerce or Orderful if that is the path you use (How to implement and customize EDI in Acenda). Have partner details, the documents you need, and test files if you have them.
- Map warehouses so Target Plus locations point at the Acenda warehouses that should supply stock (How to connect a sales channel to Acenda). If the EDI connection is a fulfillment provider, select it on the warehouse (How to add and manage warehouses; How to connect a fulfillment provider).
- Confirm a test order: the Target Plus order arrives in Acenda, the 850 (when you are the buyer) goes to your partner, and the 856 tracking comes back to Target Plus.
How much does it cost?
Target sets Target Plus fees. There is typically no additional fee if the EDI connection uses AS2 or SFTP. Acenda's platform fee is a flat rate per channel, never a percentage of sales. A quote is given on a demo, based on your setup.
