Target Plus guide
What is Target Plus? Target’s invite-only marketplace, explained.
Target Plus (styled Target+) is Target’s curated, third-party online marketplace. Approved brands sell alongside Target’s own assortment on Target.com — without being a traditional wholesale vendor. Here’s how it works and why it’s different.
How Target Plus works
When a brand is approved for Target Plus, its products appear on Target.com next to Target’s first-party assortment. Shoppers browse, buy, and check out on Target.com exactly as they would for any Target item — most never notice the difference.
Behind the scenes, the model is seller-fulfilled: you ship each order from your own warehouse or 3PL, and Target routes the order to you and owns the customer relationship and the returns experience. There’s no purchase order and no inventory sitting in Target’s DCs — you control stock, pricing, and assortment.
Is Target Plus invite-only?
Yes. Unlike open-registration marketplaces, Target selects and approves every seller. There is no public sign-up form. Target curates the catalog to protect the shopping experience — which means less commodity competition and a higher-trust shelf for the brands that get in.
That exclusivity is the point: getting on Target Plus is an asset, not a formality. If you’re exploring an invitation, see how to become a Target Plus seller — and note that when there’s a good product fit, Acenda’s business development team can help introduce brands to the marketplace team.
