3PL, warehouse, and shipping software integrations

Quick answer

Acenda connects 3PLs, warehouse systems, and shipping software such as ShipBob, Extensiv, and ShipStation to the marketplaces you sell on. Acenda routes each marketplace order to the warehouse that ships it, sends the fulfillment instructions to that provider, and passes tracking back to the marketplace.

What is a fulfillment provider in Acenda?

A fulfillment provider is the service that ships orders. That can be a 3PL, shipping software, or a sales channel doing its own fulfillment, such as Shopify.

Each provider is assigned to the sales channels and warehouses it fulfills for. You can connect more than one provider, and you can connect more than one instance of the same provider.

Shopify in the fulfillment role is also described on the ecommerce platform integrations page.

How does Acenda decide which warehouse ships an order?

Routing modes run in order. Ship Complete sends the whole order from one warehouse that can fill every line. If that is not possible, Priority uses your warehouse order, or Proximity uses the closest warehouse. Default is the fallback.

Routing only decides which warehouse ships. It does not change what is listed.

What happens when an order ships from more than one warehouse?

In Acenda, an order becomes one or more Ship Advices: one for each warehouse that ships part of it. Each Ship Advice carries the instructions that warehouse needs.

An order shipping from more than one warehouse becomes more than one Ship Advice. Each warehouse gets the lines it is shipping.

How does tracking get back to the marketplace?

Tracking comes back to Acenda as the carrier, the tracking number, and the ship date. Acenda passes that tracking to the marketplace or sales channel.

Acenda does not ship the order or print the label. Your 3PL or shipping software does that work.

Can my 3PL send stock levels to Acenda?

Providers can send stock counts into Acenda on their own schedule. That sync replaces hand-entered or imported counts for the provider's warehouse.

Acenda sends inventory to each channel on that channel's own schedule, not the instant stock changes, and holds back any Inventory Floor you set.

What if a connection stops working?

Email notifications cover invalid addresses, bad tracking numbers, and orders or fulfillments that cannot flow.

Five failed connection attempts in a row mark a connection Unhealthy. Reconnecting clears that status.

Which 3PLs and shipping tools does Acenda connect to?

3PL and fulfillment providers. ShipEngine does not have a separate page. It is covered with ShipStation, because ShipEngine is now ShipStation API.

You can connect more than one fulfillment provider, and more than one instance of the same provider. Name each connection so the warehouses stay clear.

The order number a provider receives is the full marketplace order number, which is recommended, the shorter purchase order number, or the Acenda order number.

A provider's stock sync replaces hand-entered or imported counts for that provider's warehouse. Tracking that comes back includes the carrier, the tracking number, and the ship date. Acenda does not print the label or ship the box. Our team configures these connections with you during onboarding.
