Acenda's Shopify integration connects your Shopify store to Acenda in one of two roles: as a sales channel, where storefront orders come into Acenda, or as a fulfillment provider, where Acenda sends orders to Shopify to fulfill. Since January 1, 2026, new fulfillment-provider connections use a custom app you create in Shopify's Dev Dashboard.

How does Shopify connect to Acenda?
Shopify connects to Acenda in one of two roles, or in both.
Shopify can connect to Acenda in two roles: as a sales channel, where your Shopify storefront orders come into Acenda, and as a fulfillment provider, where Acenda sends orders to Shopify to fulfill.
Sales-channel authorization uses Shopify's own install screen and never asks for a Client ID or Secret.
Since January 1, 2026, Shopify retired the old private-app API key and password screen. New fulfillment-provider connections start with a custom app in Shopify's Dev Dashboard, which gives a Client ID and Secret.
What moves between Shopify and Acenda?
As a sales channel, storefront orders come into Acenda. Inventory to Shopify is usually every 30 minutes. Some connections use a different schedule.
Acenda sends inventory to each channel on that channel's own schedule, not the instant stock changes, and holds back any Inventory Floor you set.
As a fulfillment provider, Acenda sends orders to Shopify and tracking comes back. Orders can be held while an item shows zero stock in Shopify, or sent anyway, in which case stock can go negative in Shopify. Pulling inventory or pricing from Shopify can be switched on or off.
Routing modes pick the shipping warehouse: Ship Complete, then Priority or Proximity, then Default.
How do you set up Shopify with Acenda?
Add Shopify as a fulfillment provider in Acenda's Integrations page.
In Shopify, create a custom app in the Dev Dashboard, set its permissions, and install it on your store.

Choose order and customer settings, and whether to pull inventory and pricing from Shopify.
Map your Shopify locations to Acenda warehouses and set the routing mode.
Step-by-step setup is in Acenda's help center: "Acenda and Shopify Integration: Step-by-Step Guide" and "Shopify Acenda Integration 2026."
Connecting Shopify as a sales channel is set up with Acenda support: you create a custom app in Shopify and Acenda support completes the connection.
The Shopify connection is how the store meets Acenda. Selling on marketplaces from that store is a separate topic. Read Expanding from Shopify to marketplaces.
Connecting a system to Acenda doesn't affect whether a marketplace accepts your brand. Each retailer makes its own decision.
Marketplaces you can run from Shopify through Acenda
With Shopify connected to Acenda, you can run these curated marketplaces from the same place. Listings, inventory, orders and tracking for each one stay in Acenda. Each retailer decides who sells, and an introduction or nomination is not approval.
Should I connect Shopify as a sales channel or a fulfillment provider?
It depends on whether Shopify takes storefront orders, ships orders, or both. As a sales channel, storefront orders come into Acenda and authorization uses Shopify's own install screen. As a fulfillment provider, Acenda sends orders to Shopify to fulfill.
What changed in the 2026 Shopify setup?
Since January 1, 2026, Shopify retired the old private-app API key and password screen. New fulfillment-provider connections start with a custom app in Shopify's Dev Dashboard, which gives a Client ID and Secret.
Can Acenda hold an order when Shopify shows zero stock?
Yes. In the fulfillment-provider setup, orders can be held while an item shows zero stock in Shopify, or sent anyway. If they are sent anyway, stock can go negative in Shopify.
Does the Shopify integration cost extra?
Acenda's platform fee is a flat rate per channel, never a percentage of sales. Book a demo and we'll walk through the fees for your setup.
