What Bloomingdale's asks of marketplace brands

Bloomingdale's Marketplace is part of the curated marketplace program Macy's, Inc. runs for both Macy's and Bloomingdale's, built on Mirakl. Each retailer's merchant team selects brands independently — talk to Acenda first and we will introduce qualified brands, so approval at one does not carry over to the other. Approved brands sign an agreement covering agreed categories, then set up a Mirakl seller account and a J.P. Morgan payments account with weekly payouts. The requirements below are published on the shared partner site and can change — confirm the current version at marketplace.macys.com.

Area
Published requirement
Business
Published requirement
U.S. business with a signed W-9, U.S. tax ID, U.S. bank account in USD, U.S. business address and phone, and a customer-service address and phone that meet the INFORM Consumers Act.
Warehouse
Published requirement
A U.S. warehouse for both shipping and returns.
Identifiers
Published requirement
A GS1-certified UPC on every item.

Published requirement
Category-specific attribute templates; colors and sizes must use the retailer's standard values; every variant in a family needs a distinct color/size combination; brands list only in their agreed categories.
Images
Published requirement
Must meet the retailer's size minimums and link directly to the image file, not a web page.
Fulfillment
Published requirement
Ship within 48 business hours with valid tracking via UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, LSO, LaserShip or OnTrac. Plain packaging, no other marketplace branding, no inserts. Oversized items need prior approval.
Returns
Published requirement
Returned to the brand's U.S. warehouse via UPS and processed within 2 business days. Customer questions go to the brand first.
Going live
Published requirement
An item shows as live only when approved and in stock. Items at zero stock stay hidden.

Acenda maps your catalog to Bloomingdale's category templates, standard color and size values, variant families and UPCs, and can hold Bloomingdale's-specific images separately from other channels. Stock and price sync automatically, orders come in and tracking, cancellations and returns go back, and payout transactions are matched to orders. One Acenda catalog can feed Bloomingdale's and Macy's side by side. Bloomingdale's decides which brands and items are accepted; Acenda does not guarantee approval.

Bloomingdale's Marketplace FAQ

Is Bloomingdale's Marketplace the same as Macy's Marketplace?

Same company, same program, same partner site and platform — but two separate assortments, merchant teams and approvals. The mechanics (UPC rules, shipping and returns standards, payments) are largely shared, so a brand set up for one has a head start on the other.

How do brands get in?

Bloomingdale's is curated, so the best first step is to book a demo with Acenda's sales team. We review your assortment and operations, and for qualified brands we make the introduction to the Bloomingdale's Marketplace team. Approved brands sign an agreement, then complete Mirakl and payments setup before listing.

What most often holds a listing?

Images below the size minimum or linked to a web page instead of the file, missing required attributes, colors or sizes outside the retailer's standard values, two variants sharing a color/size (which holds the whole family), UPCs not registered with GS1, and items sitting at zero stock.

Does Acenda guarantee approval?

No. Bloomingdale's decides which brands and items are accepted. Acenda introduces qualified brands to the marketplace team and, once you are approved, connects your catalog, inventory, orders and settlement. Start with a demo so we can assess fit.
